The 7th and 8th grade robotics elective is designed for students interested in how to bring machines to life! This course provides a fantastic cross-curricular opportunity integrating science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).

Working collaboratively in teams with the LEGO EV3 robot, students explore the world of engineering by designing, building and programming progressively-complex robotic systems: sound activated dragsters, sumo-bot wrestlers, and mine-sweeper, to name a few. Working through these challenges, students apply their core communication, math and science skills in concert with their newfound programming and technology skills.

The Advanced course also uses the EV3 robot to introduce advanced computer science concepts and technologies, such as Bluetooth communication and advanced sensors.

In both classes, students learn to rely on critical thinking, planning, lots of hard work, and each other.
