Dear WMS Families,

Welcome back! We hope you have had a wonderful summer. We are excited to welcome students and families back to Washington Middle School and are looking forward to a great 2026–2027 school year.
Orientation Day: Tuesday, August 25
All incoming WMS students are encouraged to attend Orientation. Please come during the time assigned to your student’s grade level and last name:
7th Grade
  • 9:00 to 9:45 a.m. Last names A–L
  • 9:45 to 10:30 a.m. Last names M–Z
8th Grade
  • 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. Last names A–L
  • 11:15 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Last names M–Z
6th Grade
  • 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Last names A–L
  • 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. Last names M–Z
During Orientation, students will have an opportunity to:
  • Meet most of their teachers and visit classrooms
  • Access their class schedule
  • Practice opening their locker
  • Have their yearbook photo taken
  • Ask questions and become more familiar with WMS
Families will receive a checklist when they arrive to help guide them through the different Orientation activities.
Families will also be able to purchase items such as P.E. shirts, and pay for class fees. Students are welcome to bring their school supplies and leave them in their lockers so they are ready for the first day of school.
We know the beginning of a new school year can bring both excitement and some nervousness, especially for students who are new to WMS. Orientation is a great opportunity to become familiar with the building, reconnect with friends and staff, and feel more prepared for the first day.
Following Orientation, we will be just over a week away from welcoming everyone back for the start of school.

Student Store - Pre order your card online today!
At WMS we don't run traditional fundraisers. Instead, we collect funds through the student store that is open during school day lunches. The student store is run by the Booster Club and parent volunteers. These funds are used to support teacher requests, school clubs, and activities. T

You may stop by the student store to add money to a card for your student to use at the store (Please note: This is NOT connected to your student's OSD Food Service Account). We accept cash and checks made to WMS Booster Club
You may also order a card online via Cheddar Up: (Student Store Card)

Want to help at the student store? We know there is a lot of interest for the limited opportunity to volunteer at the student store. All shifts are currently full, but you can add your name to the substitute list to cover shifts when others can't work. Stop by on orientation day if you'd like your name added to that list.
